Frequently asked questions
What is patient-matched tumor-normal sequencing and why is it important?
Every person has unique genetic variants in DNA, but some of them are benign. When sequencing the DNA, the OncoExTra test uses patient-matched tumor-normal sequencing to rule out the benign variants and identify those that are most likely to respond to therapy. Using patient-matched tumor-normal sequencing also provides a more accurate calculation of tumor mutational burden. It’s considered a gold standard for germline subtraction and is not offered by all comprehensive genomic tests.1-3
I am ordering the OncoExTra test for the first time. How do I get started?
